LED’s

Until recently Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) were not considered a serious option for every day main lighting applications, however the global need for an efficient “green” lighting source has inspired electronic manufacturers to invest huge amounts of money and technology into this exciting, fast evolving, high technology light source. The result is the new LED technology that is available today far exceeds expectations for day to day illumination whether mainstream, decorative, ambient or task lighting. The primary benefits of LED based lighting are energy efficiency, reduced heat, long life, minimal maintenance and pure, saturated colours.

Inefficient Lamps

Inefficient lamps are no longer being produced by law and they are all being replaced by energy saving versions.

Energy saving LED’s from Eye-lite are compact, bright and are available as retrofit for most lamp types, the only difference you’ll notice is the drop in your energy bills.

Efficiency

Domestic Lighting burns on average 25% of the homes energy budget.
LED’s (light emitting diodes) have revolutionised energy efficient lighting using on average only 20% of the energy required to power a traditional filament or energy saving halogen lamp for a similar light output and offer unparalleled energy savings compared to other lighting sources.

Life Expectancy

LEDs can have an extremely long lifespan. Reports estimate that a quality LED will achieve 35,000 to 50,000 hours of useful life, though time to complete failure may be longer lasting 30-50 times as long as an incandescent bulb, so this makes the use of LED’s low maintenance.

Cost Effective

The cost of replacing normal inefficient tungsten and fluorescent lighting with LED is normally easily and quickly recouped and ensures compliance with existing and new build (Part L building regulation) In some instances there may be a grant available to assist with the cost involved with improving energy efficiency from the Carbon Trust. http://www.carbontrust.co.uk
